We are seeking a Buyer to plan, organize, and purchase quality products and services at competitive cost consistent with company policy and performance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Procurement: Place purchase orders and authorize payments based on agreed-upon terms. Maintain PO accuracy (price, leadtime, delivery dates, payment terms) expedite critical items. Resolve shortages to support production / sales.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to include performance management (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness) and follow up on issues.
- Cost Optimization: Assessing costs and finding ways to reduce total expenses by considering price, freight, terms, order size, quality, and lead-time.
- Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with internal stakeholders such as production, engineering, inside sales and finance to understand their needs and prioritize purchases.
- Market Research: Conducting research to stay informed about market trends, new products, and potential suppliers. Support/Drive RFQ/RFP activity, supplier selection recommendations, and negotiated agreements within delegated authority.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Working with suppliers to promote sustainable sourcing practices and reduce the environmental impact of the supply chain.
- Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing improvements to the supply chain process (lead-time reduction, inventory parameter improvements, & MRP transaction discipline)
Technical Skills:
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree with focus on Business is preferred.
- Experience: Three to five years experience.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office; CRM Software, Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
- Licenses: Active CPM or CPIM, CSPC or related certification preferred
